Group empowers women in entrepreneurial skills across Nigeria

In the last 20 years, the Nigerian woman has witnessed tremendous growth through NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) with over 2,000 registered members across five states in the geo-political zones of Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ogun and Kwara.

On its forthcoming 20th anniversary, the Chairman, Anniversary Planning Committee, Mrs. Lara Odebunmi, said for 20-years NNEW has built managerial and entrepreneurial capacity as well as advocacy for business-friendly policies for women. It has also created platforms for financial inclusion and given them global voice in business.  The event will hold on October 8 and 9, 2025, at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja and will witness a huge gathering of entrepreneurs, policy makers, business leaders and development partners.

Some major landmarks of NNEW on its journey so far, according to its Vice President, Bolanle Edwards, include organising training programmes, master classes and workshops – covering entrepreneurship, leadership, export readiness, Digital transformation, financial literacy and innovation.

Edwards noted that the theme of this year’s celebration was deliberately drawn to reflect progress, transformation, profitability, leadership viz: Evolve Elevate Celebrate.

It will feature high level dialogue on innovation, formulation and future of women led businesses. The event will also host exhibitions and trade showcases, giving members opportunities for visibility and new markets.
