Building giants, building nations: The visionary faith work of Apostle Ojei

While many pursue success through personal ambition, Apostle Dr Uloma Esther Ojei has chosen a different path—one built on faith, education, and a lifelong commitment to human transformation. From her modest beginnings in Barnawa, Kaduna State, she has emerged as a global voice for empowerment, blending spiritual leadership with social impact.

Apostle Ojei’s story is not just about ministry; it is about redefining what faith can achieve when it meets service. Her journey began with a single act of selflessness in 2001, when instead of seeking comfort after her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), she used her savings to establish a school for underprivileged children. What started as a small nursery and primary school has since evolved into a full secondary institution known for offering free education to the children of widows and low-income families.

That same compassion later gave birth to Faith Giants Fellowship in 2008, a radical revival and prayer movement that broke denominational barriers to unite Christians under one altar of intercession. Not long after, she founded the Humanity Development Initiative, a non-governmental platform that bridges the gap between the wealthy and the poor through empowerment programmes and community-driven projects.

Her consistent humanitarian outreach caught global attention.

In 2011, the United Nations honoured her with the Peace Ambassador Award, recognising her outstanding contributions to social welfare and faith-based community development.

Two years later, an American university conferred on her a Doctorate in Theology, affirming her as both a scholar and a servant leader.

Driven by her vision to raise spiritually and economically empowered believers, Apostle Ojei expanded her mission through Woman Build Your Home in 2015, a ministry that equips women to become spiritual anchors in their families and communities. The platform now reaches over half a million people online, offering mentorship and daily inspiration across borders.

In 2017, she introduced Ark In The House, an initiative aimed at establishing home-based prayer groups worldwide, promoting unity, intimacy, and revival at the grassroots level. Both movements are anchored at Gilgal Mountain City, fondly known as “Jerusalem in Nigeria,” her international headquarters modelled after the Holy Land.

At Gilgal, Apostle Ojei continues to nurture faith leaders through mentoring programmes like Incubate Women for Women in Ministry and Solemn Assembly for People in Ministry, training what she calls “prayer giants, faith giants, and financial giants.” Her leadership style fuses spiritual depth with practical empowerment—producing men and women who are not only prayerful but productive.

From the classrooms of Kaduna to the global stage of ministry and humanitarian work, Apostle Uloma Ojei’s life exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose. Her legacy continues to inspire thousands who believe, like her, that faith must find expression in service and education.

As she often reminds her followers, “Faith without transformation is incomplete — we are called not just to pray, but to build giants who will change the world.”
