A governance expert and lawyer, Ayokunle Ayoko, has shared an insight through the launch of six books as a collective toolkit for modern professionals.
The works covering leadership, wealth management, corporate governance, and strategic thinking were unveiled in Lagos, under the theme ‘The Gallery of Mastery: Six Pathways to Personal and Professional Greatness.’
The collection includes — Small Habits, Big Wealth, The SMART Hustle, The Quintessential Company Secretary, Achieving Exponential Results through Strategic Precision, The Mark of Excellence, and The Empathy Advantage.
Speaking at the launch, Ayoko, who currently serves as Group Company Secretary of CFAO Nigeria, said the six books represent a six-year effort to document lessons learned throughout his career.
He revealed that the journey to writing the books began in 2019 when he started work on a manuscript about company secretarial practice that he eventually had to restart.
“My first exposure to writing books was from my father, because he was an author. The second inspiration is just my desire to pass the lessons I’ve learned during my career to the next generation of leaders.
“Every masterpiece begins with a single stroke, and every library with a single book. We are presenting not just books but pathways—pathways to wealth creation, empathetic leadership, resilient mindset, and governance excellence,” Ayoko said.
The six volumes, he explained, were born from lessons learned from his years of practice in top boardrooms, including FBN HoldCo, Sanlam Allianz Insurance, Berger Paints, International Breweries, and CFAO Nigeria.
Dignitaries from the corporate and governance sectors graced the occasion. Gbenga Oyebode, Chairman of CFAO Nigeria, described the works as “fantastic books reflecting Ayoko’s professional experience and leadership journey.”
He stressed that the lessons in them transcend social or professional classes.
Similarly, the President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and Company Secretary of MTN, Uto Ukpanah, commended Ayoko’s achievement, describing him as diligent and tenacious, as well as his contribution to professional development.
Ayoko revealed that his inspiration came from his father, who was also an author, and his personal desire to document the lessons of his career for the next generation.
The author also disclosed future writing plans, including a forthcoming collaboration on law and artificial intelligence.
However, for now, he said, the focus was to rest and reflect after years of research, editing, and publishing.
