Nigerian-born media entrepreneur and broadcast consultant, Ehijie Jeffery Ebhodaghe, has received international recognition for his contributions to digital innovation and inclusion, after being honoured at the African UK Trade and Investment Awards held in London.
Ebhodaghe, who is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Jeffwise Media Global Limited, received the award for Outstanding Corporate Excellence in Digital Innovation and Inclusive Impact during the week-long UK Trade and Investment Conference and Awards 2025, held at the Royal National Hotel, London.
The event was organised in collaboration with the African Chamber of Trade and the International Business Council. Ebhodaghe was selected for the honour following a rigorous assessment of his contributions to the creative and broadcast industry in Africa and the UK.
Speaking after receiving the award, Ebhodaghe described the recognition as an encouragement to continue promoting innovation and excellence in the global media space.
“It is an encouragement and motivation to do more,” he said. “I am proud to fly the Nigerian flag abroad, and our culture and resilience inspire me to tell the Nigerian story and project Africa positively to the world.”
A native of Iki Opoji in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Ebhodaghe began his journey in broadcasting as a teenager, inspired by his church’s media team. He earned a degree in Political Science from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, before pursuing a Master’s degree in Digital Media at the University for the Creative Arts, Surrey, United Kingdom.
He has worked with several notable media organisations, including Fam TV, Favour Television, EBS, NTA Benin, Kaftan TV, DTOS TV, and Wazobia TV, where he rose through the ranks from camera operator to production director and head of studio operations.
His company, Jeffwise Media Global Limited, is a UK-based multimedia and broadcast consultancy firm specialising in film production, digital marketing, live streaming, and technical training. The firm also operates a multimedia academy offering certification courses in journalism, video production, and broadcast engineering.
Ebhodaghe identified funding challenges and inadequate infrastructure in Nigeria, as well as cultural barriers in the UK, as major hurdles in the media industry but expressed optimism about its growth potential.
He revealed that his upcoming short film explores the experiences of Nigerian migrants in the UK, focusing on cultural integration, faith, and morality in modern society.
Looking ahead, Ebhodaghe said he plans to expand Jeffwise Media’s global reach and deepen collaborations with international partners, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and the British Film Institute, to promote African stories worldwide.
“With this award comes greater responsibility,” he said. “I want to inspire young Africans to never give up on their dreams — to start small, think big, and act positively.”
