• Hails Interface Africa’s £1.5m NextGen Innovation
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau by the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on Saturday.
President Tinubu noted that the title of Sardaunan Zazzau, a position of deep cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeria, reflects the Emirate’s confidence in the former Vice President’s wisdom, integrity, and commitment to societal progress.
He described the honour as a fitting recognition of Sambo’s exemplary leadership and contributions to national development.
The President acknowledged Sambo’s record of humility, statesmanship, and dedication to humanity, noting that the well-deserved investiture further underscores his deep-rooted service to both community and country.
Tinubu also commended the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the noble tradition of honouring individuals whose character, leadership, and patriotism embody the values of the emirate and reflect the spirit of unity, service, and integrity.
While wishing the former Vice President success in his new traditional role, President Tinubu urged him to continue inspiring younger generations and to work closely with traditional and community leaders to promote peace and development across the country.
Meanwhile, the President has congratulated Al’amin Muhammed Idris, Chief Executive Officer of Interface Africa, on the company’s victory at the NextGen Innovation Challenge Interface Africa, representing Kaduna State, emerged winner at the grand finale held on Thursday at the Hilton London Paddington, receiving a cash prize of £1.5 million.
The NextGen Innovation Challenge is a national initiative spearheaded by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) in partnership with UKALD London.
Inspired by President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the programme aims to unlock the innovative potential of Nigerian youths.
The President commended Interface Africa for its efforts in providing affordable solar financing to small businesses across Africa, noting that the prize money would boost the company’s mission to expand access to clean energy in underserved communities.
