President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring fairness, equity, and justice in the distribution of infrastructural projects across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.
Speaking through Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, during a political rally in Dutse, Jigawa State, on Saturday, Tinubu assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains focused on completing major road and development projects of national importance.
“I assure Nigerians of our unwavering commitment to prioritise the completion of major federal highways of utmost significance to our people, among the provision of other critical infrastructural developments where I directed prompt implementations,” the President said.
The event, which marked the defection of more than 64,000 members from opposition parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC), provided a platform for renewed emphasis on ongoing national infrastructure projects, including the Kano–Maiduguri Federal Highway. The road, which has suffered delays for over three decades, is among those the President has ordered to be completed.
APC National Chairman, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, who received the defectors during the rally at the Dutse Mini Stadium, encouraged them to take active roles in party affairs and assured them of equal rights and opportunities within the APC.
“By what we have seen here today, we are confident that Jigawa is for the APC. People are satisfied with the developmental strides in education, health, roads, water supply, agriculture, and other sectors,” Yilwatda said.
He described the mass defection as evidence of public confidence in the APC-led governments at both federal and state levels.
Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, announced that the defectors were drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He presented a comprehensive register containing the names, villages, wards, and local government areas of all the new entrants to the APC National Chairman.
Governor Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusivity within the party and to sustaining policies that promote unity and progress.
He also commended President Tinubu for what he described as purposeful leadership and a sustained focus on national development.
