PAAN celebrates humanitarian values, honours Maryam Abacha

The Peace Ambassadors Advocacy Network (PAAN) recently conferred the prestigious title “Nigeria’s Most Notable Female Advocate” on former First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mrs. Maryam Sani Abacha.

President/Founder of PAAN, Amb. Onuche Kingsley I. said the honour recognises her outstanding contributions to philanthropy, peace-building, women’s empowerment, and humanitarian service.

Throughout her life, she has remained a beacon of hope and resilience, dedicating her influence and resources to improving the lives of the less- privileged and advancing causes of national unity and social progress.

He said: “Mrs. Abacha has shown an extraordinary legacy of compassion and leadership. This recognition reflects her role as a mother of the nation, whose impact continues to inspire generations.”

The award was presented at a ceremony in Abuja, where distinguished leaders, diplomats, traditional rulers, and advocates gathered to celebrate individuals who have made transformative contributions to peace and development.

PAAN emphasised that the recognition is not only a celebration of her past achievements but also an encouragement for continued advocacy that aligns with the organization’s vision of promoting peace, unity, and humanitarian values across Nigeria and beyond.
