The Director, FCT Budget, Dr. Nanre Emeje, has been presented with her certificate of listing and a copy of Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women, a biographical compendium on accomplished women leaders in Nigeria. She is among female leaders listed in the 2025 edition of this annual publication that recognises outstanding women leaders in Nigeria.
The Chief Executive Officer of Profiles & Biographies, publishers of the book, Kammonke Abam, said this year’s sterling list of Nigeria’s foremost women leaders is a mixed grill of tech experts, politicians, teachers, activists, development practitioners, and C-Suite corporate leaders.
Abam described Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women in Nigeria, as Nigeria’s most qualitative compendium that profiles outstanding women across different frontiers.
“It is a gender-specific biographical compendium that responds to existing gender gaps in Nigeria’s biographical documentation and leadership. Now in its seventh year, the current edition is the most qualitative biographical profile on Nigerian female leaders.”
Speaking while presenting the certificate to the honouree, said Emeje was recognised for her outstanding leadership in the public sector having served the country for close to three decades in different capacities.
“Emeje was appointed the Secretary to the FCT-Secondary Education Board in September, 2017. As Secretary/Director FCT-SEB, she focused on skills development, where she introduced the annual Trade & Entrepreneurship Exhibition in Public Senior Secondary Schools within the FCT. Under her Leadership, approval was granted by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity for Trade students to be given the competency test so as to receive a Trade Test Certificate,” Abam said.
Emeje hails from Plateau State, Nigeria. She attended the University of Jos, Plateau State, where she obtained both a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy in 1990 and 2001 respectively.
She was conferred with a Ph.D in April 2022 from the Cornerstone University and Theological Seminary, Jerusalem, Israel. She was employed into FCDA in January 1992 as a Personnel Officer and by dint of hard work, she has risen to the rank of a Director. Her track records of performance have earned her many recognitions and awards among which are: Lifetime Achievement Award; Award for lifelong commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (US President); 2022 HIVE Africa Global Leaders Award for Excellence Awarded for Entrepreneurship development, youth empowerment and good governance in Africa; Outstanding Leadership Award by FCTA; 2021 Entrepreneurship ICON of the Year by ESTEM Nigerian; 2021 Africa Outstanding Education Administrator of the year Award by African Brand Review; Ambassadorial Award of Excellence as an Icon of Humanitarian Services by Initiative for Development, Leadership & Change (IDLC); Sheroes Gold Award by Gender World Institute; Award of Quality Leadership by Organisation for the Enhancement of Transparent Leadership; Girl Child Freedom at the Grassroots Award; Teenage Education and Empowerment Network Award of Recognition
