The Obidient Movement has declared full readiness for the upcoming Anambra State elections, saying it will defend every vote and resist any attempt to rig or manipulate the process.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday in Awka, the National Coordinator of the Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, announced that the group had completed the inauguration of Polling Unit Commanders across all 5,720 polling units in Anambra State, ensuring what he described as “total grassroots coverage.”
“From Awka to Awkuzu, from Nnewi to every ward and community, the Obidient family is alive, active, and alert,” Tanko declared. “The days of results being written in back rooms are over. This generation of Nigerians will not allow the old order of electoral malpractice to return.”
Tanko said the movement had deployed digital technologies and intelligence networks to monitor accreditation, voting, and result transmission in real time.
He dismissed reports of internal division within the movement, insisting that the Obidient family in Anambra remains united, disciplined, and focused on one common goal — building a new Nigeria that begins at the polling unit.
“There is no faction, no confusion. We are one, and we stand ready to protect the people’s will,” he said.
The Obidient National Coordinator called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain impartial, warning that any compromise of the electoral process would be met with lawful and democratic resistance.
He also urged security agencies to guarantee voter safety, stressing that citizens must be allowed to cast their votes freely and without intimidation.
“To every Anambra citizen, your vote is your power — protect it, use it wisely, and stand firm for integrity and character,” Tanko advised.
Concluding, Dr. Tanko said the Obidient Movement was not just participating but leading a generational shift in Nigeria’s political culture.
“The world is watching, Nigeria is watching, and the future is watching. We, the Obidients, are ready. A new Anambra is possible — and together, we will make it happen.”
