Lagos is set to host some of the world’s leading boxing names as Balmoral Group Promotions, AK Promotions, and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions jointly announce ‘Chaos In The Ring II’, a major heavyweight boxing event scheduled for Friday, 19 December 2025, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
The triple-header, which will be broadcast live across the world on DAZN, brings together former two-weight world champion Lawrence Okolie, heavyweight contender David Adeleye, and unbeaten Nigerian prospect Emanuel Odiase. It marks a major return for international boxing to Nigerian soil, following the success of ‘Chaos In The Ring I’ earlier this year.
Dr Ezekiel Adamu, Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group Promotions, said the event aims to showcase the best of African boxing talent while positioning Lagos as a global sporting destination.
“We are thrilled to bring this world-class event to Lagos, showcasing Nigeria’s rich boxing talent on a global stage,” he said. “This triple header celebrates our heritage, resilience, and ambition to elevate African boxing to new heights.”
Amir Khan, former world champion and now promoter, said the Lagos event would highlight both the experience of established names and the potential of emerging Nigerian fighters.
“Lagos is about to witness something special,” Khan said. “This event brings together explosive heavyweights and Nigeria’s rising stars, backed by the global reach of Queensberry Promotions and DAZN. It’s a night that will inspire the next generation of African fighters.”
Frank Warren, founder of Queensberry Promotions, described the partnership as a continuation of Nigeria’s longstanding boxing tradition.
“Nigeria has a proud boxing history, and we’re delighted to bring this opportunity for two of our leading fighters,” Warren said. “Queensberry is the Home of the Heavyweights, and we look forward to our guys doing the business in Lagos in December.”
Michael Ridout, Executive Vice President of DAZN, reaffirmed the broadcaster’s commitment to showcasing African sporting events to a global audience.
“We’re excited to be partnering again with AK Promotions and our friends at Queensberry,” Ridout said. “This promises to be a Christmas cracker involving some of the biggest names in heavyweight boxing — live worldwide on DAZN.”
The headline bout will see Lawrence Okolie, the WBC No.1 heavyweight contender, fight professionally in Africa for the first time. Born in London to Nigerian parents, Okolie has held both the WBO cruiserweight and WBC bridgerweight titles.
“Big-time boxing comes to Lagos,” Okolie said. “This is a historic moment for Africa, my family, and my career. There’s been a lot of talk — now let’s see who really wants to dance.”
David Adeleye, returning to action after his bout with Filip Hrgovic, will also feature on the card. “Nigeria — I’m coming home,” Adeleye said. “It’s a dream come true to fight in my parents’ land. The first show was spectacular, and this time we’re bringing even more fire.”
Rising prospect Emanuel Odiase, who recorded a first-round knockout at the same venue earlier this year, will look to extend his unbeaten run and build his reputation among the division’s future contenders.
An all-Nigerian clash between Taiwo Agbaje and Musa Tope Tajudeen is also confirmed, setting up what organisers describe as one of the night’s most competitive encounters.
The Lagos event, organisers say, continues a growing tradition of world-class boxing in Africa — one that aims to blend entertainment, heritage, and opportunity for the continent’s fighters.
