Mr Niyi Adegbite has been sworn as the 23rd President of Rotary Club of Gbagada South at an investiture ceremony in Lagos recently presided over by the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9112, Lanre Adedoyin.
Adegbite disclosed that his administration has already carried out the Education and Literacy project which saw the club donating electronic computer library to Gbagada Computer Centre, serving four schools; Kiniun Ifa Primary School, Araromi Primary School and others.
He added that the electronic library comprises of ten computers, other equipment including repairing the generator.
“We are supporting petty traders in our poverty alleviation scheme by giving interest free loans of N300,000.00 with repayment staggered within five months.
“We also have a project, which is a partnership programme, to donate 50 computers, solar panels to Agege Government Girls College, he said.
Adegbite said fifteen members were inducted at the event, which made the club mega, with more than one hundred members while four Paul Harris Fellow donors were also inducted.
Adedoyin commended the club for the various projects executed. “The club has raised money and inducted 15 new members to make it a mega club and I seize this occasion to congratulate the president for the giant strides attained.
“My expectation is that he will sustain the momentum by continuing to fulfill the objects of Rotary and make impact during his tenure.”
