Sanwo-Olu urges manufacturers to embrace innovation

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged Nigerian manufacturers to embrace innovation and digital technology to remain competitive in today’s rapidly changing business environment.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, at the 60th anniversary celebration of Academy Press Plc in Lagos recently, the governor commended the printing company for sustaining operations for six decades despite economic challenges.

He described Academy Press as a model of resilience in Nigeria’s industrial landscape, noting that its journey reflected the creativity and determination that drive the state’s economy.

“For six decades, Academy Press has not only printed books and materials but has printed history itself, supporting education, business and governance in advancing knowledge and development,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we must also look forward. The world is changing fast, driven by digital technology and artificial intelligence.”

He encouraged the company and other local manufacturers to invest in technology, develop local talent, and mentor young entrepreneurs to ensure sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector.
