The Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has sensitised stakeholders, party leaders and his teeming supporters on why they should revolt against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State.
The minister stated this when he addressed members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the state party Secretariat in Gusau, the state capital.
According to him, if voted into office as Zamfara State Governor again, he will transform the state and make it a better place for everybody to live happily.
The minister recalled that during the 2023 campaign, Governor Dauda promised the electorate that he would end banditry within his first 100 days in office. He lamented that the situation with banditry was worsening.
According to him, many PDP chieftains are deserting the party for APC, for various reasons, saying that they were not comfortable with the government led by Lawal.
“All of them are saying that the ruling government in the state has no focus or direction. The leader of PDP in the state is not a politician but a businessman who is opportuned to become a governor”, he said.
He advised the voters to reflect on the over two years of Dauda Lawal’s government and assess whether he had made any positive impact in the state, urging them to express their dissatisfaction through the ballot box.
The former governor challenged APC supporters to point out what the present administration in the state has initiated, executed and commissioned, stressing that it is only working on already existing projects, which he said is not a credit.
The minister reassured that he will reposition the state and lift it higher than what the PDP-ruled government is doing now.
The Guardian reports that APC supporters across the State graced the grand occasion, chanting that the PDP-led government should pack its load from the government House to give way for the APC to take over for better leadership.
This medium also reports that there was watertight security as security operatives blocked some roads to ensure the security of lives and properties in the state.
Recall that the Minister of State for Defence stormed Zamfara State yesterday (Thursday) for political reasons.
