Welby to deliver ABU’s 45th convocation lecture

Former Archbishop of Canterbury, Right Reverend Justin Welby, is to speak on inter-ethnic and religious harmony at a public lecture to be held at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
 
He was the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury who served from 2013 until his resignation in 2024.
 
The lecture titled ‘Building Inter-Ethnic and Religious Harmony in Nigeria: Pathways to National Unity’ is part of the activities on January 29, lined up for the university’s 45th convocation.
  
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, would chair the occasion. 
 
Expected guests include former Nigerian leaders, ministers, governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders and socio-cultural organisations.
 
According to a statement by Director of Public Affairs, Awwalu Umar, yesterday, Welby accepted the university’s invitation to present the lecture as part of his contribution to the important dialogue on peace building and national cohesion.
