The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly dismissed as fake a purported party membership slip circulating on social media, which falsely suggests that a notorious terrorist, Mohammed Bello Turji, was registered as a member of the ruling party.

The party described the document as a fabrication and a calculated attempt to mislead the public, stressing that it has no connection whatsoever with its ongoing electronic registration and validation exercise.

APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, said in a statement that the claim linking Turji to the party was highly offensive and malicious.

According to Morka, all the digital parameters and details shown on the alleged membership slip do not match the APC’s official membership register or database.

He explained that the slip falsely claims the registration was carried out in “Ward 13” of Shinkafi Local Government Area in Zamfara State, even though the local government has only 10 recognised wards.

He added that every other piece of information in the document is nonexistent and not recorded in the party’s membership records, further confirming that the slip is entirely fake.

“The membership slip is a fabrication and without any association or link whatsoever with our membership register and database,” the statement read.

The APC accused mischief-makers of deliberately orchestrating the fake document to hoodwink members of the public and create confusion, noting that such actions are driven by sinister motives aimed at tarnishing the party’s image.

The ruling party urged its members, supporters and the general public to completely disregard the document, warning against the spread of unverified and misleading information capable of undermining public trust.

The APC also reiterated its commitment to transparency, credibility and integrity in its membership registration process, which is being conducted electronically nationwide to ensure accuracy and accountability.

The party maintained that it has zero tolerance for criminality, terrorism or any form of violence, stressing that individuals associated with such acts have no place within its ranks.
