Christian leaders in Kaduna State, under the umbrella of the Nigerian Interdenominational Pastors Assembly (NIPA), have commended Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for his leadership in responding to recent bandit attacks in Kajuru Local Government Area, as well as his administration’s sustained investment in infrastructure and community development.
Led by Reverend Abraham Habila Zock, the delegation visited several affected communities in the Kurmin Wali, where coordinated attacks by armed bandits resulted in the abduction of residents and heightened tension across the area.
The Christian leaders praised Governor Sani’s swift and hands-on response, noting that his decision to personally visit the affected communities, console bereaved families, and reassure residents demonstrated empathy, authority, and a clear sense of responsibility at a critical moment.
According to the delegation, the governor’s presence among the people helped restore confidence and calm, reinforcing the message that the state government remains firmly engaged in protecting lives and property.
Zock recalled that during an earlier visit to Kurmin Wali, Governor Sani described the attacks as a cruel abduction of innocent citizens and assured residents that coordinated security operations were underway to secure the release of those still in captivity.
“He made it clear that insecurity will not be tolerated and that his administration is fully committed to working closely with federal security agencies to safeguard vulnerable communities, particularly in Southern Kaduna,” Zock said.
Beyond immediate security measures, the Christian leaders highlighted the governor’s development-focused approach to peace and stability, commending ongoing rural road rehabilitation, improved access to social services, and plans for new healthcare facilities in Kajuru and surrounding communities.
They described the infrastructure interventions as critical to restoring economic activity, improving mobility, and reducing the isolation that often exacerbates insecurity in rural areas.
Meanwhile, community leaders in the area said the visit by the pastors, combined with the governor’s actions, had boosted morale and strengthened collective resolve.
“We are encouraged by the governor’s leadership and the support shown by our religious leaders. It has reassured us that government is present and committed to rebuilding our communities,” a local community chairman said.
While acknowledging the persistent security challenges in Southern Kaduna, Reverend Zock also noted that the recent abductions underscore the need for sustained, coordinated efforts.
Nevertheless, the delegation expressed confidence that, under Governor Sani’s leadership, the combined efforts of government, security agencies and faith leaders would deliver a more resilient and effective response to insecurity and accelerate development across the region.
