REMENAF names Paul Ukpabio as Media Partner

Nigerian Army

The Office of the National Secretary of the Retired Members of Nigerian Armed Forces (REMENAF) has appointed journalist and media entrepreneur, Paul Ukpabio, as an official Media Partner, in a move aimed at strengthening public engagement around the welfare and contributions of Nigeria’s military veterans.

The appointment brings Ukpabio’s media platform, Paul Ukpabio Blog, into a strategic partnership with REMENAF, positioning the outlet as a key channel for telling the stories of retired service members whose voices are often overlooked in national conversations.

Through this collaboration, REMENAF seeks to ensure that the experiences, sacrifices, and ongoing challenges of veterans are accurately documented and widely shared with the Nigerian public and relevant stakeholders.

The partnership was facilitated through the Office of Ambassador (Dr.) Oamien Roy Okhidievbie, the National Secretary of REMENAF and Director of Media for the Coalition of Concerned Military Veterans of Nigeria (CCV). Amb. Okhidievbie, a seasoned advocate for military veterans and human rights, also serves as a Human Rights Consultant with the United States Institute for Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) in Washington, D.C., a role that underscores his international engagement on issues of justice, dignity, and institutional accountability.

According to REMENAF, the collaboration with Ukpabio is part of a broader effort to deepen media advocacy for retired military personnel, particularly in areas relating to pensions, healthcare, reintegration into civilian life, and recognition of service to the nation. By leveraging the reach and credibility of Paul Ukpabio Blog, the organisation hopes to bridge the gap between veterans’ lived realities and policy discourse.
Paul Ukpabio, known for his consistent coverage of governance, security, and social issues, brings years of journalistic experience to the role.

His platform has built a reputation for spotlighting underreported stories and engaging audiences across digital spaces.
REMENAF believes the partnership will not only amplify veterans’ voices but also foster greater public understanding of the enduring role retired service members play in Nigeria’s national security history.

As the collaboration unfolds, stakeholders anticipate more sustained, nuanced, and impactful media attention on the lives and legacies of Nigeria’s military veterans.
