Does this Valentine’s Day count?

Valentine’s Day

February 14 has become a yearly gifting and colour me red/white or whatever shade is perceived as a matured and fit-for-the-day routine, with little or no ounce of affection and intentionality. Of course, a number of true and intentional lovers still get it right and make it count beyond the regular for their spouses/partners yearly.

Valentine’s Day commemoration is beyond buying something he/she likes, going to a nice restaurant, and then wrapping it up behind closed doors till the next year?

While this may have become the yearly definition of Valentine’s Day for a lot of people; a yearly premium gifting way-of-life for those who see it as a responsibility to their spouses and partners, rather than the intentional love, appreciation and affection that the day actually symbolises.

Thus, the essence is lost in who buys or gets a better gift and the ‘bedroom sensation’ – everyone wants to make love on Valentine’s Day night.

But does that really count for your partner/spouse? Is there a place in their heart where you’re truly appreciated and adored beyond the gifts and lovemaking? Does love and affection reflect in their eyes while you’re at it? What are you doing for your partner beyond the regular to make this Valentine’s Day count?

You should make this Valentine’s Day count!

* Singles, Eligible For Marriage – You have been dating her for over a year or two so put a ring on it! Otherwise, all the premium gifting and table for two remains a surface level yearly routine that is appreciated but doesn’t really count for those who believe in the union of marriage after all is said and done.

* Married And Out Of The Butterfly Sparks –You have been married for a year or since forever, spice it up with ‘interesting’, away from the traditional boring married people way of life. Think outside the everyday marital routine box and do something new, exciting and affectionate that makes your spouse retire to the bedroom with a silent or loud Thank You Almighty God For My Husband/Wife just before the sealing ritual – that is when you can say this Valentine’s Day truly counts!

However, this is not to say Valentine’s Day is for married couples alone, rather, it is a day to be truly affectionate by being intentional with that person you love and care about.
