Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have arrested three suspected Boko Haram members and intercepted a Toyota pickup mini-truck loaded with large quantities of textile fabrics allegedly meant for sewing terrorists’ uniforms in Borno and Yobe states.
A credible military source in Maiduguri said on Tuesday that the suspects were believed to be logistics suppliers to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) operating in the North-East.
The OPHK Media Information Officer, Lt-Col Sani Uba, in a statement issued yesterday in Maiduguri, said the arrests were made on February 23, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. along the Damasak-Kujawa-Monguno axis of Borno State.
“Our troops on February 23, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. arrested and recovered terrorists’ logistic and operational items in a pickup mini-truck in the Damasak-Kujawa-Monguno axis of Borno State.
“Beyond the arrest of suspected logistic suppliers, the logistic supplies retrieved from the mini-truck included 20 Hilux tyre tubes, 10 cutlasses and three mobile phones,” he said.
Uba stated that the items were concealed under planks of wood and used vehicle tyres to evade detection.
He added that the textile fabrics being conveyed were allegedly intended for the production of uniforms for ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters.
On the state of counter-terrorism operations, Uba said: “The general security situation across the theatre remains calm, while the troops’ morale and fighting efficiency are satisfactory to the military high command in Abuja.”
