One thousand households across Yobe State have received critical relief support following a large-scale humanitarian outreach led by the Managing Director of the Nigeria Food Corporation, Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam.
The initiative, carried out in Damaturu, provided essential supplies to widows, orphans, and families facing economic hardship. It forms part of broader efforts to ensure that vulnerable members of society are not left behind during periods of heightened financial pressure.
Speaking during the distribution, Babagana stressed that effective leadership extends beyond administrative oversight to direct engagement with communities.
“Public service is not about occupying an office; it is about touching lives. When families struggle, institutions must respond. Our responsibility is to ensure that no vulnerable household feels forgotten,” he said.
He further emphasized that sustainable development requires compassion alongside strategy.
“We are committed to building systems that serve people at the grassroots. Support like this is not an isolated gesture; it reflects a continuing obligation to stand with those who need assistance the most,” Babagana added.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the support would significantly ease their domestic burdens as beneficiaries offered prayers for the leadership behind the effort.
The outreach attracted notable dignitaries, including Dr. Mohammed Goje, Executive Secretary of SEMA, and Dr. Sa’id Alkali Kori, Group Chief Executive Officer of Thinklab Group and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, along with other community leaders and stakeholders.
Observers say the initiative reinforces Babagana’s growing reputation as a proactive administrator whose stewardship of the Nigeria Food Corporation reflects both institutional effectiveness and social responsibility.
The exercise was conducted within the supportive governance framework of Mai Mala Buni, whose administration has consistently promoted inclusive programs to strengthen community welfare.
With the successful completion of the distribution, Babagana reaffirmed his commitment to expanding humanitarian-driven programs that directly address the needs of vulnerable populations across the state.
