Nigerian singer Asake has reportedly bought a Toyota Landcruiser for his father, days after gifting his mother a luxury Mercedes-Benz G-Class, popularly known as a G-Wagon.

The development follows recent public conversations surrounding the singer’s relationship with his father, Fatai Odunsi, who earlier alleged in a viral video that the fast-rising music star had neglected him.

In the video that circulated on social media, Odunsi claimed he had been battling health challenges and had not received adequate support from his son.

Months after the video, Asake has reportedly purchased a Toyota Land Cruiser for his father.

The development also comes shortly after the singer reportedly gifted his mother a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.

Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake’s breakthrough came after he was signed to YBNL Nation. Under the label, he released a series of hit songs that has established him as one of the most prominent voices in the Afrobeats scene.

The singer continued his momentum with subsequent releases, including Work of Art and Lungu Boy. Asake has since then built a distinct sound that resonates with young audiences.

His dominance on streaming platforms has also remained evident. In 2025, his single Why Love emerged as the most-streamed song on Apple Music Nigeria.

Another highlight of the singer’s recent success came with MMS, his collaboration with Wizkid. The track emerged as one of the top five most-streamed songs on Apple Music Nigeria in 2025.

Asake’s growing international recognition has also been reflected on the global awards stage. In 2023, he earned his first nomination at the Grammy Awards when his collaboration Amapiano with Olamide was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category.

The singer later secured another nomination in the same category for MMS, his collaboration with Wizkid, highlighting his rapid rise on the global music stage.

Within a few years of his mainstream debut, Asake has moved from being an emerging artiste to one of Nigeria’s most influential music exports, selling out stadiums and Arenas Within and outside Africa.
