VOSMF launches ‘Power Awards’ to honour women’s excellence

The Voice of Single Mothers Foundation (VOSMF) has launched the Power Awards, aimed at recognising the excellence and resilience of women.

Scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, the award aligns with the annual International Women’s Day celebration.

VOSMF joins international bodies such as the United Nations, ECOSOC, and CSW in advocating for women’s advancement. Power Awards will celebrate female figures for their profound positive impact on womanhood and humanity.

This event drives home VOSMF’s core mission: To honour women of positive influence while actively providing resources and support to empower single mothers.

“Power Awards is a celebration of strength, achievement, and commitment to making a difference,” said Reverend Aisha Galadima, Lead Executive of VOSMF.

She added: “We are excited to spotlight these incredible leaders and channel the event’s energy into tangibly supporting single mothers to build brighter futures.

“Beyond a convergence of style and celebration, it is planned to be a reminder of the power of the woman, in line with the IWD. We applaud female presence and essence, her unignorable contribution to life through career, innovation, entrepreneurship, health and Medicine, art and many more.”

Also, Mr. Ibim Isaacs,a top film and media executive, who serves as Project Manager of The Power Awards Project, said: “The days of the woman are here; women have evolved from the traditional perception we have often known. Today they are building homes as well as building systems, influencing culture and trends; they can no longer be ignored. The Power Awards is a mirror and a torch.”

Justice Ogaranya Slik, actor, producer and African cultural relevance activist, who is the Project Director of The Power Awards Project, also said:“Power Awards is a movement; it’s a call, a loud reminder to every member of the global family to place a beyond surface value on the girl child. The power awards drums home the importance of girl child education and safety.”
