MasterChef Nigeria unveils judges, ahead anticipated season

The judges for the highly anticipated MasterChef Nigeria competition have been unveiled ahead of the upcoming season, with the promoters promising an electrifying cooking competition for culinary enthusiasts across the country.

The event signalled the formal countdown to the show’s premiere on April 26, 2026, airing on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family at 7 pm.

Contestants will compete for a grand prize of ₦73 million, marking one of the largest rewards in the show’s history and underlining the growing prestige of Nigeria’s culinary scene.

The panel features culinary heavyweights Chef Stone and Chef Eros, both celebrated for their contributions to Nigeria’s food scene.

Chef Stone, founder of Red Dish Culinary School with campuses in Lagos and Abuja, will focus on technical precision and kitchen discipline.
Chef Eros, founder of Cooking Jar and Ìlè Eros, a restaurant famed for modern interpretations of Nigerian dishes, will assess creativity, plating, and innovation.

Contestants will face a series of structured cooking challenges designed to test their skill, originality, and knowledge of local ingredients. The show follows the internationally recognised MasterChef format, blending technical tests with themed challenges that reflect local culinary culture.

The Nigerian edition promises to spotlight talent, creativity, and culinary entrepreneurship, with past global adaptations producing chefs who have gone on to build successful restaurant empires.

Power Oil is the headline sponsor for the season, with additional support from Indomie, Malta Guinness, Sonia, Coca-Cola, and Flour Mills of Nigeria.
