Oyedepo, Akinpelu, others task Nigerians on strategic leadership

The Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has called on leaders across Nigeria to embrace servant-leadership style to make the country better.

Oyedepo made the remark at ‘The Shift,’ an apostolic and leadership conference organised by the Eden Centre, held at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

The bishop said leadership is built on a covenant platform of servant-hood, noting that it is real servants that become great leaders, not bosses.

He stressed that leaders are not called or appointed to be bosses, but to meet the need or serve those who they lead.

The event drew leaders from Nigeria as well as Kenya, Ghana, the United Kingdom, the United States, Rwanda and others.

Lead Pastor, Eden Centre and Convener of the event, Dr. Akin Akinpelu, said he was convinced that the next generation of leaders needs more than motivation, noting that he set out to create spaces where direction, depth and belonging could be found in the same room.

He said the Apostolic Conference was designed to strengthen spiritual fathers and visionary leaders, release fresh direction over the church and the nation, align pastors, ministry leaders, and kingdom-driven business leaders to their divine
mandate, and signal spiritual alignment and territorial influence across key spheres.

“This is not just another meeting; it is a prophetic convergence meant to transform participants, foster strategic leadership, and inspire national and societal impact. Participants will experience apostolic teaching, prophetic declarations, and practical leadership mentorship that equip them to advance God’s Kingdom purpose in every sphere,” he said.

At the event, Akinpelu unveiled The Agenda, a book he wrote as a working document for the leader who is serious about building with divine intelligence.
