Tinubu, Christian mothers, APC task parents on raising Godly children

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Christian mothers, yesterday, at the Diocese of Lagos West, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), celebrated motherhood with their husbands and children.

Wife of the Dean of the Cathedral, Aderonke Kolawole, who spoke on the theme: “Raising Godly Future Generation Today,” said that moral values had declined simply because parents had neglected their sole responsibility of taking care of their God-given children.

She, however, blamed parents for the moral decline in society and urged them to monitor their children and teach them to know the Lord.

ALSO, wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, yesterday, paid glowing tribute to mothers across the country, praising their sacrifices, love and unwavering commitment to nurturing families and shaping the nation’s future.

In her 2026 Mother’s Day message, the First Lady described mothers as the unsung heroes of society whose quiet acts of care and devotion form the foundation of strong families and communities.

SIMILARLY, Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a statement, yesterday, by its Spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, lauded mothers for their contributions to family life, community development and nation building.

The party, which joined millions of families in celebrating mothers, describing the occasion as a time to honour their love, sacrifice, strength and invaluable role in the society, said mothers remain central to the development of families and communities, noting that their influence extends beyond the home into governance, enterprise, education and social development.

It, however, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development, as well as supporting policies and initiatives aimed at empowering women, improving family welfare and expanding opportunities for mothers to thrive.
