Cleric links nation’s woes to dearth of focused leadership

Francis Olubambi

President and Chief Executive Officer of Vision International Christian Ministries (VICM), Francis Olubambi, has identified a shortage of focused leaders as one of the factors militating against the progress of the nation.

Olubambi, who stated this during a media briefing in Lagos to commemorate the ministry’s 25th anniversary and transformational leadership conference 2026, described focused leadership as the beginning of national rebirth.

He said that a leader who is focused would imbibe virtues of integrity, diligence, contentment, excellence and respect.

The VICM President, therefore, stressed the need for value re-orientation, adding that aspiring public office holders must pass the values test to be elected.

He recalled that over the past 25 years, VICM has reached more than two million leaders across West and Central Africa, equipping an average of 100,000 leaders yearly through conferences, leadership trainings and community-based initiatives.

Olubambi disclosed that the event, themed “Focused Leadership,” is scheduled for March 19, 2026, in Lagos, with Rev’d Sam Adeyemi, Dave Champness, Ibukun Awosika, Yemi Davids, among others, expected as speakers.
