Director General of the Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA), Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde

The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association’s workforce job and employability fair is aimed at empowering talents, building skills and promoting inclusive growth.

Director-General of NECA, Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, while speaking ahead of the association’s job and employability fair with the theme ‘Empowering Talents, Building Skills and Driving Inclusive Growth’, said the initiative is designed to equip job seekers with interview-ready skills and prepare them for meaningful engagement with employers.

The fair will also provide a strategic platform for employers, industry leaders and key stakeholders to engage on emerging digital trends, skills development and career opportunities in Nigeria’s evolving labour market.

Noting that Nigerian youths need future-ready skills, he said unemployment and skills mismatch remain major challenges.

He added that the fair, scheduled to be held in hybrid and physical sessions on May 13 and 14, 2026, will equip job seekers with essential digital skills for the modern workplace.

He said it will also provide a face-to-face platform for job seekers to meet employers, participate in on-the-spot interviews and network with human resources professionals and industry stakeholders.

According to him, the discussions aim to provide participants with actionable strategies to navigate the modern workplace and align their skills with industry demand.

Oyerinde described the fair as a critical initiative to bridge the gap between talent supply and industry demand, underscoring the association’s commitment to reducing unemployment and equipping Nigeria’s workforce with future-ready skills.
