Nigerian gospel and juju artiste, Odunnayo Akintomide, has concluded plans to embark on a six-month musical tour of the United Kingdom, beginning April 1, 2026.
The Ekiti State-born musician, popularly known by her stage name Odunnayo, will lead her nine-member band on the tour, which is expected to run until September 2, 2026, targeting Nigerian diaspora audiences across major UK cities.
According to her band manager, Lawal Taiwo Tomiwa, the tour will feature a series of live performances in halls and event centres, aimed at promoting Nigerian gospel and juju music beyond the country’s borders.
With a growing international presence and a strong base in Nigeria’s gospel music scene, the forthcoming UK tour is seen as a major step in her ambition to become a household name in the global music industry.
The opening performance, titled Welcome Dance, is scheduled to hold at Success Hall, Old Kent Road, London. This will be followed by a Praise Night at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Fruitful Land Parish in Tilbury, Essex, on April 5, and another live session at TNLCM Media Hall in Dagenham, Essex, on April 7.
Odunnayo is also billed to perform alongside Ogunyinka Olalekan Olaitan at a juju music festival during the tour.
Organisers say the tour, promoted by Topnotch Global Venture International Limited in the UK, will not only showcase Nigerian culture but also provide an opportunity for the artiste and her band to record and launch a new music video.
Born on December 23, 1981, Odunnayo began her music journey in the church, where she was trained as a lead vocalist. Over the years, she has developed a unique blend of gospel and juju music, gaining recognition for composing songs for church programmes, including annual themes and events within the RCCG.
She officially launched her professional music career in 2017 with her debut album, Fill Me Oh Lord, and has since remained active in live performances and recordings.
A graduate of Business Administration from Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Ekpene, the artiste is currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration at the University of Lagos. She is also a member of the RCCG mass choir and affiliated with the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture.
Beyond music, Odunnayo is the convener of the Atmosphere of Worship, a popular monthly and annual gospel event. She has shared the stage with notable gospel artistes, including Adeyinka Alaseyori, Bukola Bekes, Mercy Chinwo, and Chigozie Wisdom.
