Former Raul Garcia has hailed Ademola Lookman for his flying start at Atletico Madrid following his move in the winter transfer window.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international has quickly become an influential figure in Diego Simeone’s side, contributing four goals and three assists in 13 appearances.
Garcia described Lookman as a “world-class player,” praising his seamless adaptation.
“He’s started on the front foot, which is never easy at a club like Atletico,” the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder told Europa Press. “He’s done exceptionally well. For me, he’s a world-class player, and his quality doesn’t surprise me.”
Meanwhile, Igor Tudor secured his first victory as Tottenham Hotspur manager with a win over Atletico Madrid, despite the club’s exit from the UEFA Champions League.
Spurs had been on the brink of elimination after a heavy 5-2 first-leg defeat in Madrid, but produced a spirited display at home to restore some pride.
A brace from Xavi Simons and a goal from Randal Kolo Muani sealed the win, offering a timely morale boost ahead of their crucial clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
