Ghana is set to host Africa’s premier gathering on workplace safety and sustainability.
The hosting followed the signing of a strategic partnership in Accra early this month between AfriSAFE, the Ghana Electrical Contractors’ Association (GECA), and the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP).
According to the CEO of AfriSAFE, Femi Da-Silva, the partnership will provide a platform to strengthen occupational safety and sustainability frameworks, promote proactive risk prevention, and foster cross-border collaboration among key stakeholders shaping the future of workplace safety on the continent.
The agreement, he said, would see Accra host the 8th edition of the AfriSAFE – Africa Safety Congress & Awards from November 5 to 6, 2026, positioning Ghana as a continental hub for safety leadership, professional collaboration, and industry dialogue.
Under the partnership framework, GECA will support industry engagement and electrical safety advocacy within the broader AfriSAFE programme.
According to the President of GECA, Mr Awal Sakib Mohammed.
The Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP) will provide professional leadership support, aligning the congress programme with national occupational safety priorities and strengthening engagement among safety professionals. The President of GhISEP, Dr Miriam Eduful, noted.
