A major political shift is unfolding in Edo State as Mr. Bright Enabulele has defected from the Accord Party to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring his ambition to contest the Edo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Enabulele’s defection follows the PDP’s recent national convention, a development he believes has repositioned the party for renewed strength and electoral competitiveness.
He expressed strong confidence in the party’s revival, particularly under the influence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
According to him, the PDP is far from its previously perceived decline, insisting that ongoing internal reforms and efforts at unity would make it a formidable force ahead of 2027.
“The PDP will emerge stronger and more united going into 2027. What many thought was the end of the party has instead become a new beginning,” he said.
The Edo South politician noted that the coming months would witness strategic moves to consolidate party structures, stressing his readiness to compete for the PDP senatorial ticket and ultimately win the seat.
He also highlighted his track record in community service, arguing that his candidacy offers the people of Edo South an opportunity for effective representation and tangible development.
Political analysts view Enabulele’s move as part of a broader realignment ahead of the 2027 elections, with the PDP seeking to reclaim lost ground and strengthen its base across key states.
With his eyes firmly set on the Senate, Enabulele says his mission is clear: mobilize grassroots support, unify party stakeholders, and deliver victory for the PDP in Edo South.
