The Federal Government has announced the opening of applications for the second phase of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET 2.0) programme, aimed at equipping Nigerians with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Education Nigeria, is part of ongoing efforts to address youth unemployment and strengthen the country’s technical workforce.

Interested applicants are invited to apply through the official portal, tvet.education.gov.ng, where they can register for various vocational training programmes across multiple sectors.

According to available details, the TVET 2.0 programme is designed to provide participants with industry-relevant skills, certification, and support that will enable them to become self-reliant or secure gainful employment

The programme is also expected to contribute to national economic growth by promoting skill acquisition in critical areas such as construction, technology, manufacturing, and other vocational trades.

The latest phase builds on the government’s broader education reform agenda, which prioritises practical learning and workforce readiness over purely theoretical training.

Stakeholders in the education sector have consistently emphasised the importance of technical and vocational training as a sustainable solution to unemployment, particularly among young Nigerians.

Applicants are encouraged to complete their registration early, as the programme is expected to attract a high number of participants nationwide.
