The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, bringing the total number of results so far released to 1,897,692.
In a statement on Sunday signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board disclosed that 1,264,940 results from the two days are now available for candidates to check.
It would be recalled that the examination body had earlier released 632,752 results from candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, April 16.
Also, the Board had earlier announced that over 2.2million candidates registered for the examination, expected to end on Wednesday, April 22.
According to the Dr Benjamin, candidates can access their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. He emphasised that only the registered SIM cards linked to candidates’ profiles will be able to retrieve the results.
The Guardian reports that the annual exercise, one of Nigeria’s largest examinations, is used for admission into tertiary institutions.
