Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the results of candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on Monday, April 20.

This announcement brings the number of UTME results released by the examination body so far to three batches.

In a statement issued yesterday and signed by JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the board advised affected candidates to access their results through its official checking platforms.

“The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process,” the statement read.

“Candidates can access their scores by sending ‘UTMERESULT’ to 55019 or 66019 via SMS, using the phone number with which they registered for the examination,” it added.

Recall that the board had earlier released results for candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, April 16, as well as April 17 and 18, respectively.

Over 2.2 million candidates have registered for the examination across 966 computer-based centres, and the exercise is expected to end on Wednesday, April 22.

MEANWHILE, the Association of Nigerian Imams has welcomed the condemnation reports of hijab-wearing students being harassed, denied access, as well as forced to remove their religious attire at examination centres during the UTME test.

It’s National Secretary, Dr Umar Farooq Abdullahi, in a statement, condemned the act of an incident at Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre, Ibadan, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, where candidate Fatimah Salaudeen and other female students were reportedly compelled to remove their hijab before accreditation.

Umar, while demanding prosecution and protection of religious freedom, described the incident as a direct violation of their dignity, personhood, and constitutional rights, and stressed that similar reports from Peter Harvard Schools in Abuja confirm that the incident is not isolated.
