The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) began the second batch of its statewide multi-agency training programme for security operatives yesterday.
This initiative reinforces a long-term vision to construct a more responsive, intelligence-driven, and ethically grounded security architecture.
The training is a strategic continuation of its efforts to institutionalise professionalism and coordination within Lagos’ complex security ecosystem.
Following the inaugural session last month, which trained the first group of operatives, the second edition further demonstrates the Fund’s commitment to training over 1,000 personnel across security and law enforcement agencies in the state.
The programme, themed: ‘Enhancing Professional Capacity, Ethical Standards and Inter-Agency Collaboration for Effective Security Operations’, signifies a shift from reactive approaches to a more integrated security management model focused on knowledge, synergy, and proactive engagement.
Participants in this second batch were selected from various agencies, highlighting the programme’s multi-agency depth.
In his welcome remarks, the board member representing the Advisory Board Chairman of LSSTF, DIG Agboola Oshodi Glover (rtd), emphasised the importance of attentiveness and discipline.
He stated: “This is a special training we are organising for you. It is the second session, and I hope you will pay close attention to what is being taught because you will need it in your service.”
At the opening ceremony, the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, stressed the significance of collaboration in modern security operations.
He stated that the initiative was designed to break institutional silos and enhance operational outcomes.
Ogunsan urged participants to view training opportunities as strategic investments rather than routine exercises.
He emphasised the need for active engagement with facilitators, sharing experiences with colleagues, and acquiring the practical knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and collective service delivery.
