Fintiri visits Adamawa attack victims as nine killed in Boko Haram assault

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has visited victims of a Boko Haram attack in Mayo Ladde community, Hong Local Council, following an assault on Wednesday night.

During the condolence visit, Fintiri expressed sadness over the incident, which left several people dead and others displaced. He addressed displaced residents taking refuge in a neighbouring village in Kuva Gaya, describing the attack as unfortunate and reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining peace across the state.

The governor commended the military for its efforts in combating insurgency in affected parts of the state and assured continued support for security agencies and local vigilante groups to sustain peace and enable residents to carry out their daily activities.

The Chairman of Hong Local Council, Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, confirmed that nine people were killed before security personnel intervened.

In his remarks, the Paramount Ruler, Tol Huba, Alheri Bulus Nyako, commended the governor for identifying with the community, describing him as a leader committed to the welfare of his people.

Also speaking, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, and the member representing Kuva Gaya Constituency, Adum John Alaba, sympathised with the victims and urged continued public support for the state government’s efforts.

They also called for the recruitment of more forest guards to complement the work of security agencies in addressing persistent insecurity.
