The Aiguobasinmwin Movement Worldwide, on Friday, declared its support for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, popularly known as POI, as their preferred candidate for the Edo South Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 elections.

The group also cautioned other sub-ethnic groups within Edo State to refrain from interfering in the political affairs of the Edo South Senatorial District, signaling a firm stance on local representation.

In a statement in Benin City, key figures of the movement, including Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture, President; Mr. UhunomaEwere Lucky, Assistant Secretary; and Mr. Monday Ohuimumwen JP, Diaspora Coordinator, emphasised the group’s unwavering resolve.

They warned that any attempt to challenge their decision would be met with strong opposition.

The group asserted that the people of Edo South are politically astute and capable of making informed decisions regarding their representation.

They firmly rejected any external influences seeking to impose a senator on the district.

The group urged those from Edo North and Central to concentrate on their respective senatorial districts, reinforcing their commitment to local autonomy and self-determination in the Edo South Senatorial race.
