Shandong ZW holds diplomatic meetings in Beijing to expand Africa partnerships

Shandong ZW Group has held series of diplomatic meetings in Beijing as part of its ongoing engagement with African countries on industrial cooperation, infrastructure support, and long-term business partnerships.

‎The company met separately with the Ambassadors of Ethiopia, Burundi, and Guinea. The discussions focused on transport systems, industrial development, logistics capacity, and enterprise–state collaboration in African markets.

‎The meetings were attended by Chairman Yongchang Sun, General Manager Pierce Guo, and Secretary-General Vera Jiang of Shandong ZW Group. The company operates across manufacturing and international trade, with business platforms including Shandong ZW Vehicle Group and Shandong Zhuowei International Trading Co., Ltd.

‎Representing the African countries were Ambassador Tefera Derbew Yimam of Ethiopia, Ambassador Telesphore Irambona of Burundi, and Ambassador Aminata Koita of Guinea.

‎Across the three engagements, participants discussed how cooperation between African countries and Chinese industrial enterprises has moved towards long-term frameworks centred on infrastructure systems, logistics operations, and industrial alignment.

‎The first meeting took place on April 15 with the Embassy of Ethiopia. Discussions reviewed ongoing cooperation between Ethiopia and Shandong ZW Group in commercial vehicles and engineering equipment.

‎Ambassador Yimam said Ethiopia continues to invest in infrastructure development, especially in transport corridors and urban expansion projects. He noted that these efforts require stable industrial cooperation and dependable equipment supply.

‎In response, Shandong ZW Group outlined its experience in vehicle manufacturing and project support. This included solutions linked to its ZW Trailer product segment and integrated supply systems from its operations in China.

‎Chairman Yongchang Sun said the company is prepared to support Ethiopia’s development plans through practical cooperation and local engagement.

‎Later that day, the company held its second meeting with the Embassy of Burundi.

‎Talks focused on cooperation in infrastructure-related sectors, particularly road construction and transportation systems.

‎Ambassador Irambona said Burundi’s national priorities include transport development and long-term infrastructure planning. He stressed the need for steady industrial partnerships to support these goals.

‎General Manager, Pierce Guo, said Shandong ZW Group has maintained engagement with Burundi over time, with cooperation expanding in phases. He added that the company intends to use the operational experience of Shandong Zhuowei International Trading Co., Ltd. to support industrialisation and improve market connectivity.

‎Both sides agreed on the importance of continuity in cooperation and the need to strengthen industrial alignment based on practical development needs.

‎On April 16, the company met with the Embassy of Guinea. The meeting highlighted existing exchanges between Guinea and Shandong ZW Group, with discussions centred on transportation and resource-related logistics.

‎Ambassador Koita said Guinea’s infrastructure development continues to benefit from sustained industrial cooperation with Chinese enterprises.

‎Secretary-General Vera Jiang said the company has worked with partners in Guinea for many years and that cooperation has remained steady. She noted that future collaboration would focus on improving operational coordination and service response in project areas.

‎She added that through its industrial entities, including Shandong ZW Vehicle Group, the company aims to support development outcomes in the country.

‎Chairman, Shandong ZW Group, Yongchang Sun said the firm would continue to pursue mutual benefit and win-win cooperation while aligning with the development strategies of African countries.

‎He said the company plans to use its industrial chain and international platforms to deepen practical cooperation in key sectors.
