FG unveils GovGuideNigeria AI platform to boost governance

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani

THE Federal Government has launched an artificial intelligence-powered platform, GovGuideNigeria, aimed at simplifying access to government information and public services for Nigerians across the country.

This was revealed by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, Thursday, via a statement posted on his X handle.

He described the initiative as part of the government’s efforts to improve public service delivery through technology and digital innovation.

According to the Minister, the platform is accessible through WhatsApp and the web, and is available in English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba to ensure wider accessibility for citizens across different linguistic backgrounds.

Tijani stated that GovGuideNigeria provides users with easy access to information from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies.

He noted that the platform is designed to bridge language and information gaps, particularly for underserved and low-literacy communities that often face challenges accessing government information and services.

“Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian,” the Minister said.

He added that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that artificial intelligence and digital technologies deliver practical value to citizens.

Recall that two years ago, the Ministry launched Nigeria’s first Multilingual Large Language Model (LLM) called N-ATLAS.

The N-ATLAS is a multilingual, multimodal, open-source large language model (LLM) designed to map and digitize Nigeria’s rich linguistic heritage while building datasets to power inclusive AI solutions.

The initiative was launched through a partnership between a Nigerian AI company, Awarritech, a global tech company, DataDotOrg, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the National Centre for AI and Robotics (NCAIR).

According to the Minister, the GovGuideNigeria initiative was developed in collaboration with NCAIR, Meta, and Publica.

He said the project demonstrates the impact of partnerships between government institutions, private sector players, and local innovators in addressing public sector challenges.

“I appreciate the strong collaboration between NCAIR, Meta, and Publica in bringing this important initiative to life,” Tijani stated.

He encouraged Nigerians to utilise the platform to access government-related information and services more conveniently
