Nwifuru, Umahi, Nweze insist Tinubu is best choice for Ndigbo

Following what they described as the integration of the South-East into national politics through key appointments and developmental projects, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Minister of Works Sen. David Umahi, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-East), Bar. Chioma Nweze, over the weekend declared that Ndigbo will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid.

Speaking in separate remarks during the APC presidential primary exercise, the trio maintained that Nigeria had passed through its most difficult phase, expressing optimism that the benefits of ongoing reforms would soon reach ordinary citizens at the grassroots.

Governor Nwifuru, who served as the State Collation Officer, said President Tinubu polled a total of 207,579 votes in the exercise, while his closest rival, Stanley Osiofor, did not secure any vote.

He commended Ebonyi people for their confidence in the party, adding that the APC had demonstrated capacity to put the country on the right path despite prevailing challenges.

Nwifuru certified the outcome as a true and accurate record of results collated from all local government areas in the state, noting that the process was credible and transparent.

The exercise, conducted simultaneously across wards and local government areas, ended with party officials affirming overwhelming support for Tinubu among APC members in Ebonyi State.

Speaking at Umunaga Ward in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Minister of Works David Umahi expressed confidence that President Tinubu would fully address Nigeria’s security challenges within the next five years if re-elected.

He said the turnout of party members for the exercise demonstrated strong trust in the president’s leadership and reform agenda.

Addressing party faithful, Umahi described Ebonyi as a stronghold of the APC, stressing that residents had resolved to demonstrate loyalty and support for Tinubu and the ruling party.

“Ebonyi State is totally APC. We are only APC,” Umahi said, adding that there was no other political party in Ohaozara apart from the APC.

He said the turnout reflected appreciation for Tinubu’s administration, particularly in terms of appointments and infrastructure development in the South-East.

According to him, President Tinubu has integrated the South-East into national politics through key appointments and ongoing development projects.

“Bola Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for—a man who has integrated the entire South-East, given us appointments and key infrastructure,” he said.

In her remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-East), Chioma Nweze, called on residents of the region to support President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections to enable him complete ongoing infrastructure projects.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Okposi community, Ohaozara LGA, she said the South-East had witnessed unprecedented federal presence under the current administration.

She noted that several projects, including roads, bridges, solar-powered street lighting, and educational initiatives, were evidence of improved inclusion of the region in national development.

Nweze cited the ongoing bridge project linking Afikpo in Ebonyi State with communities in Cross River State as one of the landmark federal projects in the area.
