President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a commanding performance in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, winning a wide spread of states as collation of results continues across the country.
Based on results announced from state collation centres and reports from correspondents, the President has secured victories in multiple states with significant margins.
Tinubu’s performance by state is as follows:
In Adamawa State, he polled 644,149 votes, securing a decisive victory.
In Imo State, Tinubu recorded 582,960 votes, one of his strongest showings in the South-East.
In Gombe State, he garnered 450,516 votes, consolidating support in the North-East.
In Delta State, the President secured 407,646 votes, while in Akwa Ibom State, he polled 389,197 votes.
In Benue State, he received 374,787 votes, and in Ogun State, he recorded 322,485 votes.
In Zamfara State, Tinubu secured 321,579 votes, followed by Kwara State where he polled 310,990 votes.
In Rivers State, he garnered 280,082 votes, while in Bayelsa State, he scored 277,192 votes.
In Yobe State, Tinubu polled 253,804 votes, and in Ebonyi State, he recorded 207,579 votes.
In Jigawa State, he secured 206,520 votes, while in Kogi State, he got 197,370 votes.
In Taraba State, he polled 183,698 votes, and in Abia State, he recorded 161,005 votes.
In Edo State, Tinubu secured 131,096 votes, while in Osun State, he polled 100,880 votes.
Reports also indicate that in Borno State, the President secured 100 per cent of the votes cast by APC members, although exact figures were not immediately disclosed.
However, results from Kaduna State were still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.Addressing journalists after the primary in Lagos, Tinubu described the exercise as a reflection of internal democracy within the party, praising the conduct of delegates and party officials across the states.
He expressed satisfaction with the process, noting that the exercise reflected strong grassroots participation and effective organisation from ward to state levels.
Tinubu also commended party stakeholders, including governors and delegates, for ensuring a smooth electoral process, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, pledged to respect the outcome of the election.
