Former Senator representing Taraba South, Emmanuel Bwacha, has been affirmed as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate for Taraba State.
In a post on X, Bwacha said the party leadership and members spoke with one voice on Monday to name him as the party’s flagbearer.
“I humbly accept this sacred mandate with gratitude to God, our leaders, and the good people of Taraba. Together, we will build a Taraba of peace, progress, and prosperity,” he said.
In other news, the immediate past Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State following a primary election held on Tuesday.
Pantami was selected through voice affirmation during the exercise, where he was declared the sole aspirant by the Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel, Hon. Gregory Yenlong.
The process took place in Gombe, where party stakeholders formally endorsed him as the flagbearer ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In his acceptance remarks, Pantami said his decision to contest was driven by a desire to serve the people of the state and pledged to govern with fairness and justice if elected.
He said, “I contested for the seat to offer service to the people of the state,” promising that his administration would prioritise equity and good governance.
