A major push to curb the use of substandard plumbing materials in Nigeria’s construction industry has received a boost as Kazeem Royal Properties and Constructions Ltd, has partnered with the Association of Professional Plumbers of Nigeria (APPN).
A statement yesterday by the Chief Executive Officer of Kazeem Royal Properties and Constructions Ltd, Kazeem Eletu, said that the partnership was formalised in Lagos during the inauguration ceremony of APPN’s national executives.
Speaking at the event, Kazeem stressed the urgent need for the construction industry to embrace durable and genuine plumbing materials.
He also warned against the dangers posed by substandard products in building projects across the country.
The event attracted key industry stakeholders, government officials and construction professionals in the construction sector.
Kazeem said that his firm was known for producing more than 40 categories of plumbing products used across the real estate, construction, manufacturing and technology sectors.
Kazeem was represented at the event by the Chief Operating Officer, Kazeem Royal Properties and Constructions Ltd, Ibraheem Babayeju, who said the appointment would further strengthen collaboration between manufacturers, professionals and policymakers in the plumbing industry.
He said: “This appointment reinforces our dedication to the development of Nigeria’s plumbing sector. We see it as an opportunity to deepen collaboration between manufacturers, professionals, and policymakers to ensure quality and sustainability in our infrastructure.”
Kazeem noted that the partnership would help improve standards in the sector by ensuring that skilled professionals work with certified and durable materials.
He further commended APPN for its efforts in professionalising plumbing practice in Nigeria through certification, training and the fight against quackery.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Iziaq Salako, said partnerships between industry players and professional bodies were critical to improving infrastructure and public health standards in the country.
As National Adviser of APPN, Kazeem is expected to provide strategic guidance on industry best practices, technology adoption and capacity building as the association intensifies efforts to reposition Nigerian plumbers for global competitiveness.
