The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has announced the closure of schools on Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, 2026, over the abduction of some schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

In a statement, Ogun State NAPPS President, Otunba Osibeluwo Adekunle Joshua, said the move is in solidarity with the victims in captivity.

Joshua also stated that the move is to acknowledge the tragic killing and beheading of a Mathematics teacher by terrorists.

“I also advise that we dedicate these two days to fasting and prayers for the safe return of those still in captivity, and for peace and stability to be restored to our Country.

“All members are to strictly adhere to this directive. May the Almighty God hear us and grant healing to our land.
