12th Nigeria Transport Lecture holds on June 18

Dr Segun Musa

A transport and logistics expert, Dr Segun Musa, has been appointed as the Chairman of the 12th Nigeria Transport Lecture, slated for June 18, in Lagos.

The annual event, organised by Transport Day, would examine the theme: ‘Multi-modal Transportation Safety in Nigeria: Prospects, Challenges and Contribution to National Growth.’

Musa, who serves as the Chairman of Widescope Logistics International, is recognised for his vast experience in transportation, logistics and supply chain management.

The lecture would also feature the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Mr Kingsley Igwe, as the keynote speaker.

Speaking of the event, Editor of Transport Day Media, Mr Frank Kintum, said the programme is expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, industry operators, academics and other stakeholders to discuss transportation safety, policy reforms and strategies for improving Nigeria’s multi-modal transport system.

Other speakers expected at the event included the National President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT), Boboye Oyeyemi and the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Joseph Osanipin, among others.

He added: “The event continues to provide an avenue for stakeholders to examine emerging industry issues and develop practical solutions for the sector.

“This year’s focus on multi-modal transportation safety reflects the growing integration of road, rail, maritime and air transport systems across the country.”

He noted that as investments in transport infrastructure and connectivity increase, ensuring safety across all modes of transportation was necessary to achieve sustainable growth and maximise the benefits of such investments.

Kintum added that the lecture also aligned with Transport Day Media’s commitment to promoting policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and industry collaboration aimed at building a safer, more efficient and globally competitive transport and logistics sector in Nigeria and across Africa.
