Progress Giwa leads Recycle Art Tour 2.0 across Lagos divisions

Recycle art tour 2.0 at Epe

In commemoration of World Environment Day 2026, multidisciplinary artist and environmental advocate, Progress JesutomIwa Giwa, alongside his team at Susty Creative Hub, successfully Executed Recycle Art Tour 2.0, a four-day environmental awareness campaign that spanned four major divisions of Lagos State: Badagry, Epe, Lagos Island, and Ikeja from 1st-5th of June

The initiative leveraged the power of creativity, environmental education, and community engagement to inspire responsible environmental practices and promote sustainability among young people and community stakeholders. Through art exhibitions, sustainability conversations, interactive learning sessions, and creative demonstrations, participants were encouraged to rethink waste and embrace innovative approaches to environmental stewardship.

Recycle Art Tour 2.0 was implemented in official partnership with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), FABE International Foundation, and the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, with support from other organizations committed to advancing environmental sustainability and climate action across Lagos State.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Progress JesutomIwa Giwa noted that Recycle Art Tour was created to bridge the gap between environmental awareness and practical action by using art as a tool for education, advocacy, and social change.

“Environmental sustainability is a collective responsibility. Through Recycle Art Tour, we are showing that creativity can be a powerful catalyst for environmental action. By engaging communities through art and education, we are helping people see waste differently and empowering them to become active contributors to a cleaner and more sustainable future,” he said.

The tour highlighted the urgent need for environmental consciousness while showcasing how discarded materials can be transformed into meaningful works of art and promoting climate action.

Participants were exposed to conversations around waste management, responsible consumption, recycling, climate action, and the role individuals can play in protecting the environment.

Over the four-day engagement, the initiative brought together students, educators, environmental advocates, government representatives, and community stakeholders, creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and collective action toward a greener Lagos.

The project contributes directly to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

As the impact of Recycle Art Tour continues to grow, Susty Creative Hub remains committed to expanding environmental education and sustainability advocacy through creative and innovative approaches that inspire lasting behavioral change.
