Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying he would continue to stand by the President in appreciation of what he described as Tinubu’s role in ending his period of exile.
Igboho made the declaration during a visit to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Network in Accra, Ghana, where he expressed confidence that Tinubu would complete two terms in office.
According to him, his support for the President is driven by gratitude, stressing that he would not turn against someone who had supported him.
“I will continue to appreciate and support the government of Bola Tinubu for forgiving me and restoring me back from a lonely exile. I will support him for eight years,” he said.
The Yoruba Nation campaigner also took a swipe at the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC),Rauf Aregbesola, describing him as “ungrateful” over his current political differences with Tinubu.
Igboho claimed that Tinubu played a significant role in Aregbesola’s political rise, recalling that he served as Commissioner under Tinubu before becoming Governor of Osun State and later a Minister in the Federal Government.
He argued that Aregbesola’s criticism of the President did not reflect loyalty to a political benefactor.
Expressing optimism about Tinubu’s political future, Igboho said the President would complete eight years in office, citing the two-term tenures of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari as examples.
“Tinubu will complete his eight years by God’s grace. Nothing will stop him,” he said.
Igboho’s remarks come amid growing political realignments and increased activities by political parties and key stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
