Pastor Daysman Oyakhilome has encouraged churches and individual believers to place greater emphasis on prayer, teaching that spiritual growth and ministry should be grounded in dependence on God rather than human effort alone.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Oyakhilome challenged Christians to reject what he described as excuses for spiritual unfruitfulness, saying believers are called to remain productive in their faith regardless of circumstances.
According to him, a consistent prayer life strengthens believers spiritually and positions them to receive God’s guidance as they pursue their calling.
“If you’ve been engaging your cell members more, start engaging angels more,” he said, explaining his belief that those who devote themselves to prayer receive divine assistance in fulfilling God’s purpose.
Drawing from the biblical account of the Apostle Peter, Oyakhilome said the early Church benefited from God’s direction through angelic intervention, adding that while practical planning and organisational strategies remain important, prayer should remain the foundation of Christian ministry.
He further taught that believers who cultivate a disciplined prayer life may experience greater clarity, direction and confidence in carrying out their responsibilities.
The sermon concluded with a call for Christians to embrace a lifestyle of prayer, fruitfulness and dependence on God’s guidance as they seek to fulfil their purpose and serve others.
