MedBioTech has recorded a significant milestone in Nigeria’s healthcare and diagnostics sector following the successful approval of its innovative MedBioTech Malaria Home Rapid Test Kit by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) after an extensive nationwide evaluation programme.

The approval was formally presented at the MLSCN Western Zonal Office and Public Health In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Control Laboratory, Yaba, Lagos, where MedBioTech founders Oluwadamilola Olatunde and Olutoye Olatunde received the Certificate of Approval from MLSCN officials.

The MedBioTech Malaria Home Rapid Test Kit is designed to provide individuals and families with a simple, convenient, and reliable method of testing for malaria in the comfort of their homes, helping to promote early diagnosis and timely treatment.

According to MLSCN officials, the approval followed a rigorous validation process led by Dr. Paulinus Offutalu, who supervised an extensive evaluation of the product to ensure that it met the required standards for safety, quality, accuracy, and performance.

The assessment involved comprehensive testing and validation studies conducted across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones to verify the kit’s effectiveness under varying environmental and epidemiological conditions.

Following the successful completion of the evaluation programme, MLSCN granted approval for the MedBioTech Malaria Home Rapid Test Kit to be manufactured, marketed, distributed, and sold to the general public in Nigeria.

Speaking after receiving the certificate, the founders of MedBioTech expressed appreciation to the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria for its professionalism and commitment to ensuring that only high-quality diagnostic products reach the Nigerian market.

They noted that the approval represents a major step towards expanding access to affordable and accessible malaria diagnostics, particularly in underserved communities where access to healthcare facilities may be limited.

Oluwadamilola and Olutoye Olatunde further reiterated MedBioTech’s commitment to developing innovative healthcare solutions that address pressing public health challenges while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
