The leadership of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission has issued a strong warning to members of the public to be vigilant against individuals posing as agents of the commission to fraudulently collect money from unsuspecting job seekers with false promises of securing employment.
Briefing journalists yesterday in Jalingo, the state capital, the commission chairman, Philip Kundila, expressed concern over the activities of fraudsters who have been moving around the state, deceiving members of the public by claiming they can facilitate recruitment into the state civil service in exchange for money.
The commission described the activities of the impostors as criminal, misleading, and capable of tarnishing the image and integrity of the state’s recruitment process.
It emphasized that recruitment into the Taraba State Civil Service is conducted strictly through transparent and officially approved procedures, and that no individual or group has been authorized to collect money or act as recruitment agents on its behalf.
The leadership urged job seekers and members of the public to disregard anyone demanding payment or claiming to have the influence to secure employment in the civil service.
It stressed that all legitimate recruitment exercises would be publicly announced through official government communication channels, with clear guidelines for interested applicants.
The commission further called on anyone approached by such fraudsters to immediately report the incident to the nearest security agency or relevant government authorities for investigation and possible prosecution.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, fairness, and merit-based recruitment, the commission assured the public that it remains dedicated to ensuring that all employment opportunities within the state civil service are conducted in accordance with due process and without favoritism or financial inducement.
The Taraba State Civil Service Commission also appealed to residents to remain alert and avoid falling victim to scammers, warning that anyone who pays money in exchange for promises of employment does so at their own risk.
Suppoting the position of the chairman, the Permanent Secretary of the commission, David Nyan, said the on going recruitment exercise, will not only be transparent, but will as well reprsent the federal character.
The duo also applauded the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for deeming it necessary to lift embergo on emplyment.
